This is the page that really sets the main plot in motion - it's not always easy to draw pages of exposition/dialogue in an interesting way, but I tried a number of things here to keep things alive - including an unusual panel framing, a mix of close-ups and wide shots and a cliffhanger at the end (or at least I hope it reads as a cliffhanger).

Your characters are in such good shape they have 8 packs abs instead of the usual 6.

when do you have the time to put so much detail in to your work?

Lol, you know I never realized that! I guess I just 'ballparked' it and got a bit carried away. But hey, who would mind a couple abs extra? The detail I can't really turn off, to be honest, I just really enjoy creating a fully realized world.

I really like the clever logic of having the unknown man write his language on paper as a way of identifying him. That was really smart. The old man's expression and dialogue in panel four are great and establish the momentousness of some unknown discovery.

Also, Doug was right. There was something bothering me about the anatomy of your figures for a long time and that was it, the 4th set of abs. Maybe you could start drawing them with just the regular six from now on?
Or wait, what if this is another planet, and people evolved to have a 4th set of abs? Yeah, that would work.

That was my plan all along, of course (ahem)...

Seriously though, that's a cool idea and I've made some changes to a few older pages and this one to rectify the 'abs situation' along these lines.

Just goes to show, there's always ways to improve your art, sometimes in major ways. Thanks guys!
